Fred Davis, 74, Dies Tuesday

Fred Davis, 74, Astoria, died about 10 p.m. last night at his home near Astoria where he had resided for the past forty years.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 5, 1887, a son of William and Sarah Sayers Davis. In 1911 he was married to Mary Shaw who died in 1921. In 1924 he was married to Edith Aten who preceded him in death in 1961.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Olive Orsborne of Peoria and Mrs. Clarice McWhorter of Canton; one grandson, Edson Orsborne, and one brother, Charlie Davis of Adair. He was preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers.

Mr. Davis was a member of the E.U.B. church and the Astoria Cemetery Association.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon in the E.U.B. church, with the Rev. Fred S. Green officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Friends may call at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria after noon Thursday.
