Edson C. Orsborn Jr., 64, of Astoria died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Canton, the son of Edson C. and Olive Davis Orsborn.

He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He was a heavy construction company estimator and manager in Decatur and Springfield, retiring in 1988 as a member of Carpenters and Millwrights Union Local 644 in Pekin.

He was a member of Astoria Masonic Lodge 100, AF&AM, where he served as past master; and Vermont Masonic Lodge 116, AF&AM. He was a former member of Scotish Rite Bodies, Valley of Springfield.

He was a member of Astoria Evangelical United Brethren Church. He was a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association of America.

He was a former Republican precinct committeeman.

Private graveside services will be at Harmony Cemetery in rural Astoria. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont is in charge of arrangements.
