Robert Cooper

Robert W. Cooper, 88, of Astoria died at 8:25 p.m. Feb. 27, 2016, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Peoria, the son of David William and Helen Ann Merrill Cooper. He married JoAnn Ray in March of 1951 in Sciota. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Roberta Tomlinson of Cuba; one nephew, David (and Lorrie) Langille of Massachusetts; and one niece, Emily Langille of Texas.

He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, David Tomlinson; and one sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Vernon Langille.

He was owner and operator of Cooper Motor Company in Astoria and worked for the AMAX Coal Company.

Burial will be held at Astoria Cemetery at a later date. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
