VeteranVernon A. Langille, 83, of Hudson, Ohio, died Nov. 4, 2000.

He was born March 20, 1917, in Boloeil, Quebec, Canada, the son of Ellman and Annie Laughren Langille. He married Vivian C. Langille. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, David (and Lorrie) of Northbridge, Mass.; one granddaughter; one sister, Edith (and Dr. Tom) Baldwin of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and his brother-in-law, Robert W. (and JoAnn) Cooper of Astoria.

He was an honor graduate of the University of Iowa School of Journalism.

He served in the Canadian Air Force during World War II and later, for the U.S. Marine Corps as a correspondent for "The Leatherneck," a Marine Corp publication.

He worked in Public Relations for CASE University, CEI and Firestone. He retired from Firestone in 1980 after 20 years, which included 6 years in Rome, Italy.

Private services were held.
