Louisa CripeLouisa J. Cripe, 80, of Astoria died at 6:45 a.m. July 18, 2009, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Rushville, a daughter of David and Etta Atkinson Vollmer. She married Hubert R. Cripe on Dec. 21, 1946, in Bader. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Roy (and Virginia) Cripe of Downers Grove; one daughter, Rebecca Ann (and Mike) Lightle of Pittsfield; one sister, Nancy (and Bob) Longwell of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Iola Icenogle, Doris McMunn and Margie Luthy.

She was a homemaker, and worked at Markley’s Grocery and Astoria Fibra-Steel.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church of Astoria, where she directed youth day camp at Camp Emmanuel, taught Sunday school and served on the church board.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Pastor Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
