Eva Curless

Eva CurlessEva P. Curless, 87, of Browning died at 9:04 p.m. Oct. 27, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born June 22, 1920, in Bluff City, a daughter of Hardy E. and Violet Crable Thompson. She married Leo Curless on April 16, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Feb. 25, 2004.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, James Thompson; and two infant siblings.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne (and Betty) Curless of Astoria and Paul (and Betty) Curless of Readyville, Tenn.; three daughters, Judy (and Dale) Brennan and Janie (and Jess) Atterberry, both of Havana and Pauline (and Dick) Atchley of Lewistown; and two sisters, Evelyn (and Albert) Coil of Browning and Alice (and Russell) Herzog of Anaheim, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bluff City Community Church.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Wayne Curless, Paul Curless and Pastor Barbara Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
