M. Charlene Crossman, 82, of Aledo, formerly of Vermont, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center-West in Rock Island.M. Charlene Crossman, 82, of Aledo, formerly of Vermont, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center-West in Rock Island.
She was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Vermont, the daughter of Earl and Edna Belle McDonald Andrews. She married Herbert Charles Crossman Sr. on May 28, 1943, in St. Charles, Mo. He died Aug. 19, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, E. Elene (and Darryl) Waters of Aledo; three sons, Herbert Jr. (and Jean) and Hurley (and Tana) both of Vermont, and Monte (and Becky) of Astoria; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter.
She had worked several years as city clerk of Vermont. She also was a real estate agent in Macomb.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Vermont Christian Church.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Dennison Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery in Vermont.
