HERBERT CHARLES CROSSMAN SR.

Herbert C. Crossman Sr., 89, of Vermont, died at 5:39 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Feb. 3, 1910, in Leadwood, Mo., a son of Walter Hurley Scott and Ann Roberts Crossman. He married M. Charlene Andrews on May 28, 1943, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Darryl (Elene) Waters of Aledo and Betty Klasing of Springfield; three sons, Herbert Jr., Hurley and Monte, all of Vermont; two sisters, Louise Moore of Midwest City, Okla., and Edna Rogers of Wright City, Mo.; six grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Carroll-Rankin American Legion Post 26.

He worked for St. Louis Roofing Company. He also was a bus driver for VIT School District.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be at Vermont Cemetery at a later date. Kost Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
