Betty Jean Curtis, 68, of Rushville died at 7:04 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born March 17, 1937, in Astoria, a daughter of Eldon and Leona Katherine Ebbert Smith. She married Lyle E. Curtis on Dec. 25, 1955, in Rushville. He died Aug. 10, 1986.
She also was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are her mother, Leona Smith of Rushville; three daughters, Debbie Curtis and Diane (and Kevin) Wise, both of Rushville, and Kim (and Mike) Lewis of Vermont; one sister, Linda Billingsley of Huntsville; and three brothers, Donald L. (and Sondra) Smith of Astoria, Robert (and Rebecca) Smith of Newman and Dennis (and Judy) Smith of Frederick.
She worked at Rushville IGA and Wal-Mart in Beardstown.
Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Burial was in Christian Neck Cemetery northeast of Rushville.
