Harry R. Calhoun, 78, of Cuba died at 6:49 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Seville, a son of Fred and Dora Phelps Calhoun. He married Kathleen Patterson on July 5, 1952. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tedd of Littleton, Colo., and Paul (and Jeannie) of Canton; three daughters, Susan (and Joe) Chiappone of Amarillo, Texas, and Lynne (and Richard) Helle and Paula Zaborac, both of Canton; one brother, Ghlee (and Bette) of Ipava; one sister, Myrtle Foulk of Birch Tree, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Canton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1984 and the American Legion.

He was an assembler for International Harvester Co. in Canton for 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of Canton Moose Lodge 784.

Graveside services were held Monday at White Chapel Memory Gardens. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Cuba was in charge of arrangements.
