Melba Curless Of Rushville Dies

Mrs. Melba Kay Curless, 83, of Rushville, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 1988, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital there.

She was born March 9, 1905, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, a daughter of John and Alta Beck Etter. She married Hartford Curless Dec 16, 1931 in Bloomington. He died Aug. 3, 1969.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Young and Mrs. Harold E. (Norma) Smith, both of Rushville; two grandchildren; and a brother, Clair Etter of Sullivan, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a half brother.

Mrs. Curless was a member of the Rushville Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Presbyterian Church in Rushville with Rev. Michael Orsted officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Roby Funeral Home was in charge.
