Mrs. Dora E. Calhoun, 90, of rural Smithfield died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Mar. 28, 1984, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born July 14, 1893, in Marietta, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Jordon) Phelps. She married Fred Calhoun May 2, 1917, in Lewistown. He died Dec. 1, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, seven brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Lyle of Bushnell, Harry of Cuba and Ghlee of Ipava; two daughters, Mrs. Lilly Hitchcock of Santa Anna, Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle Foulk of Birch Tree, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mrs. Zephyer Bartlett of Bushnell.
She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Smithfield H.E.A. and taught school for several years in Fulton County.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Marietta Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Martz officiating.
