Mrs. Sarah Conner Answers Summons Funeral Monday

Sarah Jane Hess, the youngest daughter of Lewis and Lydia Ann Hess, was born July 4th, 1865, near Astoria, Illinois, and departed this life February 5th, 1927 at her home near Browning, Illinois, aged 60 years, 7 months and 1 day. She was united in marriage to Robert Conner, November 21st, 1914.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Robert Conner, also three sisters and four brothers, namely: Mrs. Anna Barrett, Colchester, Ill.; Mrs. Enos Barrett, Fandon, Ill.; Mrs. Douglas Heaton, Vermont, Ill.; Edward Hess, Parker, So. Dakota; Jacob Hess, Highmore, So. Dakota; Lewis Hess and Henry Hess, both of Astoria, a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The deceased united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Astoria in 1904 during the ministry of S. N. Wakefield. Her affliction has been such that for several years, she has been deprived of the means of grace, but she kept her faith and hope strong in God. It was her determination to do what seemed best, and seemed fully resigned to the Master's will and said death was welcome at any time.

Funeral services were held Monday at the M. E. Church, at 11:00 o'clock A. M., conducted by Rev. LaVerne Barkley. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery.
