Aged Astoria Farmer Dies

Henry Hess Passed Away Monday At St. Francis Hospital, Macomb

William Henry Hess, an aged and well known farmer residing west of Astoria, died at the St. Francis hospital in Macomb Monday morning, after being a patient at the hospital since last December 21st, when he suffered a broken leg in a fall at his home. He was aged 82 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Mr. Hess was born Nov. 4, 1861 in Baltimore, Md., the son of Lewis and Lydia Landon Hess. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Brown, who survives, together with the following children: Ralph Hess, Astoria, Mrs. Sidney Combs, Macomb, and Mrs. Jura Jones, Bushnell.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late home, five miles west of Astoria, conducted by Dr. C. W. Perkins, pastor of the Astoria United Brethren church. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery.
