Ralph Hess Dies At Age 87Ralph Hess Dies At Age 87Ralph Hess, 87, of Astoria, died at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 1975 at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital following four years of illness.
Mr. Hess was born Feb. 3, 1888, in Astoria, the son of Henry and Mary Brown Hess. He married Alma Gorsage in 1919. She preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 1964. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Astoria. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the Astoria American Legion Post No. 25.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Maud Combs of Macomb.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
