Carl "Bill" BurnhamCarl William “Bill” Burnham, 71, of Canton died at 1:03 p.m. Dec. 28, 2022, at his home.

He was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Canton, a son of Carl H. and Loretta A. Davis Burnham. He married Annie Mitchell on Dec. 13, 2014, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Mylo (and Amanda) Mitchell of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Cheyenne Mitchell of Ohio; two brothers, David (and Jody) Burnham of Bryant and Randy Burnham of Saint David; mother-in-law, Jeannine Shanks of Astoria; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter, Georgia Duckwiler; and his father-in-law, Ernie Shanks.

He was a proud firefighter for the City of Canton for 29 years. He also was a photographer for 35 years, working for the Canton Daily Ledger for 10 years.

He was a Ham Radio operator most of his life and was involved with the Fulton County Playhouse for many years.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
