She was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Bushnell, a daughter of Laurin J. and Opal L. Cowman DeRenzy. She married Earl Dennis Briney on April 20, 1958, in Bushnell. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Patricia D. (and Stanley L. Schisler) Briney of Bluff City; three sisters, Verna Morrison Smith and Shirley Miller, both of Macomb and Linda Sue Havens of Marietta; three brothers, Robert "Slick" (and Jean) DeRenzy of Canton, Larry (and Barbara) DeRenzy of Bushnell and Kenny (and Nancy) DeRenzy of Macomb; two step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Dean Briney; two sisters, Margaret Lamb and Dorthy Billings Saulters; and five brothers, Howard Ray, Richard Lawran, Gale, Charles Bud and Gerald William DeRenzy.
She was a housewife.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Bluff City Cemetery in Browning.
