Gladys V. Bucher, 96, of Astoria died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1905, in Pleasant Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Eldon and Pearl Gilson Shawgo. She married Caleb Bucher on Oct. 2, 1927, in Astoria. He died May 5, 1976.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Anderson; one brother; and one half sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Jeanette (and Phillip) Schisler of Rushville; three sons, Aubrey (and Dorothy) of Camp Point, Gerald (and Judy) of Tremont and Richard (and Mary) of Yukon, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-greatgrandchildren.
She worked at Mummert Seed Co. for a short time.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
