She was born March 9, 1928, in Fulton County, a daughter of the late Caleb and Gladys Shawgo Bucher. She married Phillip Vern Schisler on Dec. 18, 1948, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2022.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Chase; one sister, Jean Anderson; and three brothers, Aubrey Bucher, Gerald Bucher and Richard Bucher.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Behymer of Pinckneyville and Carol (and Blaine) Kliffmiller of Rushville; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Astoria High School in 1946. She worked in the clock factory in Table Grove, the Overall factory in Canton and then the Mummert Seed Company in Astoria. She was an active member of the Buena Vista Mothers Club for 40 years and a RSVP volunteer for the Schuyler County Senior Citizens in Rushville.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 7, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. Burial was at the Christian Neck Cemetery.
