He was born July 12, 1938, a son of Caleb and Gladys Shawgo Bucher. He married Judy Todd on Oct. 16, 1960, in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randy (and Katina) Bucher and Keith (and Malia) Bucher; one daughter, Diane Gingerich; one sister, Jeanette Schisler; one brother, Richard Bucher; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Anderson; and one brother, Aubrey Bucher.
He grew up in Astoria and graduated from Astoria High School. He graduated from MidState Business School (formerly Browns Business School) in Peoria. He retired as the Chief Financial Officer from ENTEC Services in 1994.
Sports played a big role in his life. He was involved in various sports as a player, a coach, and later a spectator.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 18040 Unsicker Road, Groveland. Visitation will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. prior to the Celebration of Life at the church. A private burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is in charge of arrangements.
