Harold L. Barrick, 78, of Cuba, died at his residence at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 1996, after an extended illness.

He was born on March 16, 1918, at Blyton, a son of Ora C. and Edith E. Simpson Barrick. He married Lela C. Quick at Cuba on March 5, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Edith Barrick of the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb; four sons, H. Gordon Barrick of Eureka, Kenneth L. Barrick and Bruce E. Barrick, both of Cuba and Ronald L. Barrick of Schaumburg; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Carolyn) Churchill of Cuba, Mrs. Martha Knowles of rural Cuba and Mrs. Randall (Elaine) Wilcoxen of Canton; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, John W. Barrick of Wattsville, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Woods of Ipava, Mrs. Glendon (Helen) Stroud of Auburndale, Fla. and Mrs. Mae Hoskins of Georgetown, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

He was a retired carpenter and was a minister in the Nazarene faith. He was a member of the Cuba Church of the Nazarene, Galesburg Local of the Carpenters Union. He served in the Army Air Corps in India during WWII. He was a member of Russell Smith American Legion Post 533 and also of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association of Central Illinois.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Lewistown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Doug Kindle and Rev. Terry Vance officiating. Burial was in the Wiley Cemetery at rural Ellisville. Military rites were held at the grave by his American Legion Post.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba Church of the Nazarene or to the Spoon River Hospice of Graham Hospital at Canton.

Henry Memorial Home in Cuba was in charge of arrangements.
