HELEN L. (BARRICK) STROUD

Helen Stroud

Helen L. Stroud, 83, of Shelbyville, Ind., formerly of Fulton County, died at 9:50 p.m. Oct. 5, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Fulton County, a daughter of Ora C. and Edith E. Simpson Barrick. She married Glendon D. Stroud on Aug. 17, 1963, in Cuba. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sharon (and Rob) Hale of Manassas, Va.; two sisters, Mary Woods of Ipava and Mae Hoskins of Georgetown, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and John Barrick.

She taught school for 43 years before retiring. She was a pastor’s wife and a member of Nazarene Church.

Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Gordon Barrick and Dr. R. Thomas Stanley officiating. Burial was in Wiley Cemetery at rural Ellisville.
