EDITH E. (SIMPSON) BARRICK

Edith Barrick

Edith E. Barrick, 101, of the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, and formerly of Cuba, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 1997, at the nursing home.

She was born Nov. 27, 1895, at rural Bushnell, a daughter of Louis and Euphemia Burrows Simpson. She married Ora Barrick on Feb. 18, 1914, at Ellisville. He died Nov. 14, 1970. She was also preceded in death by two sons, three grandchildren, two brothers, and nine sisters.

Surviving are one son, Rev. John Barrick of Wattsville, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Woods of Ipava, Mrs. Glendon (Helen) Straud of Auburndale, Fla., and Mrs. Mae Hoskins of Georgetown, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Cuba Church of The Nazarene.

Services were held Monday at her church with Rev. Douglas Kindle and Rev. Gordon Barrick officiating. Burial was in Wiley Cemetery at rural Ellisville.

Henry Memorial Home in Cuba was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or to the Elms Nursing Home Activity Fund.
