Clyde S. Belville Dies Unexpectedly

Clyde S. Belville, 70, of 2849 8th Ave., Rock Island, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1987, at Franciscan Medical Center in Rock Island.

He was born July 9, 1917, in Astoria to Sherman and Ruth Belville Stambaugh. He married Geraldine Winterscheid on May 10, 1952, in Rock Island. She died in 1983. He married Rosa Hernandez on May 5, 1984 in Green Rock. She survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Mary Miklebost, Clydell Mendoza, Patricia Morris, Janet Belville of Rock Island; sons, Douglas of Silvis, David of Rock Island and Kenneth of East Moline; stepdaughters, Erika Garcia of Moline and Evelyn Garcia, at home; a stepson Renato Garcia, stationed with the Army in Colorado; 31 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, Annis Phelps of East Moline, Ellen Day of Macomb and Lucretia Stambaugh of Astoria; and a brother, John H. Stambaugh of St. Augustine.

He was a deliveryman for Fox Photo of Milan for the last five years. Prior to that, he was employed 15 years in the Maintenance Department of Augustana College. He earlier worked as a truck driver for many years.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island.
