Lifetime Area Resident Dies Yesterday

John H. (Jack) Baldry, 74, lifetime Astoria area resident, died yesterday evening in the Mason District Hospital in Havana, where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in ill health for the past year.

Mr. Baldry was born in Astoria on July 3, 1886, a son of Samuel J. and Elizabeth Bell Baldry. He was married to Inez Danner on Nov. 12, 1908, who survives.

Other survivors include four children, Mrs. Mildred Moose, and Jack Baldry, Jr., both of Astoria, Mrs. Peggy Jordan of Purvis, Miss., and Mrs. Bessie Featherlin of Macomb, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Sidney Baldry of Astoria, and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Gash of Avon. He was preceded in death by one son, two grandsons, four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Baldry owned and operated a grocery store in Astoria for seventeen years.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Astoria Church of the Brethren with Rev. D. Edwin Rodabaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria cemetery.

Friends may call at the Shawgo Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday and until noon Friday.
