He was born April 24, 1937, in Rushville, a son of Earl Wayne and Mamie Armstrong Acker. He married Patricia A. Baker on Dec. 13, 1963, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, William Crawford of Macomb; two daughters, Debra Lynn Crawford of Rushville and Deann D. (and Tim) Collins of Normal; one brother, Larry (and Jan) Acker of Chicago; one sister, Nadine Cummings of Chicago; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Norma Edwards, Margaret Spates, Dorcas New, Alice Chipman and Ellen Krasuski.
He worked at NTN Bower in Macomb for 37 years before retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
