Norma EdwardsNorma Lou Edwards, 80, of Rushville died at 11:54 a.m. March 27, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Rushville, a daughter of Earl and Mamie Armstrong Acker. She married Jim Edwards on Oct. 4, 1953, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Bill (and Lisa) Edwards of Oakwood Hills, Mike Edwards of Rushville and Don (and Cathy) Edwards of Lake Zurich; two brothers, Victor (and Pat) Acker of Rushville and Larry (and Janice) Acker of Algonquin; one sister, Nadine Cummings of West Chicago; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Acker; and four sisters, Alice Chipman, Margaret S. Spates, Dorcas New and Ellen Krasuski.

She graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1951.

She was a member of Rushville First Presbyterian Church.

She was a life-long homemaker.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Akins officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
