Lenore E. Ames, 92, of Astoria died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born April 11, 1910, in Adair, the daughter of David and Rosella Schisler Sullivan. She married Robert A. Ames on March 1, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died March 27, 1993.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and one niece.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Mary Hummer of West Burlington, Iowa, Linda Conley of Dellwood, Mo., Janet Desideri of Cicero, Wilma Fitch of Bushnell and Donald Ames of Table Grove.
She taught at rural Astoria area schools for several years, including Crossroads School.
She was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and as church clerk for many years.
Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in South Fulton Cemetery.
