Frances AzbellFrances Jean Azbell, 73, of Ipava died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born April 23, 1928, in Ipava, a daughter of Kenneth R. and Clara Burgard Easley. She married Wayne E. Azbell on Nov. 28, 1946, in Ipava. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Astoria; three sons, Kim of Vermont, Kevin (and Evelyn) of Phillips, Wis., and Kerry (and Marcia) of Peosta, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Kristy) Little of Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Southwood of Pekin; and one brother, Norman (and Sally) Easley of Bay Shore, N.Y.

She was a bookkeeper for Ipava Elevator for four years. She then taught school in the Macomb school system, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Ipava United Presbyterian Church, where services were held on Saturday with Rev. Bill Bodamer officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
