Bessie L. Anderson, 78, of Browning died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at 6:30 a.m. at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Tower Hill, a daughter of Jesse and Carrie Nance Ethridge. She married David Earl Anderson on Oct. 16, 1941, in Tower Hill. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry (and LaTrisha) Anderson of Urbana, Ohio, and Donald (and Julie) Anderson of Springfield, Ohio; one daughter, Ruth (and Rodney) Simpson of Astoria; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy Clemons of Sarasota, Fla., Vera Robison, Dolly Pizzo and Betty (and Lonnie) Reed, all of Pana.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Anderson and David Anderson, two brothers and one sister.
She worked at Astoria Fibra-Steel Corporation in Astoria for over 10 years.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. at Beardstown City Cemetery with Rev. James Shirley officiating. No formal visitation will be held but friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
