John Anderson

John C. Anderson, 88, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 1994, at his home in Monroe, Wash., where he and his wife Eleanor have resided for the past 13 years.

He was born in 1906 in Browning, a son of Flavel and Lucy Spiller Anderson.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor; two sons, Jack of Springfield, Va., and Mark of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one daughter, Linda Olson of Kent, Wash.; one brother, O’Lenza Anderson of Mt. Sterling; one niece, Betty Cassel of Astoria; one half sister, June Gain of Pueblo, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a carpenter by trade most of his life, but spent several years working at real estate with his father in Astoria.

A memorial service was held at the Duvall Methodist Church in Duvall, Wash., on Jan. 6. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to your local hospice organization.

Memorial Services Are Planned

John AndersonA Memorial Service for John C. Anderson of Monroe, Wash., former resident of Astoria and Summum, will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Astoria.

After a short service held by Collis Trone, the family, friends and relatives attending may go to the New Ridgeville Cemetery for the burial. Following this service, those wishing to may return to the Church of Christ where dinner will be served by ladies of the church.

Following dinner, the afternoon will be a time of visiting and renewing acquaintance of their many friends and relatives at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of Christ in Astoria.

John Anderson

John Calvin Anderson, 88, of Monroe, Wash., formerly of Astoria and Summum, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 1994, at his home.

He was born Oct. 21, 1906, in Browning, the son of Flavel Lewis and Lucy Spillars Anderson. He married Eleanor Gibson. She survives.

He was a carpenter.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Church of Christ in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Cremation has been accorded, and burial of ashes will be in New Ridgeville Cemetery in rural Bader. Bleitz Funeral Home in Bellevue, Wash., was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Astoria.
