Betty L. Cassel, 80, of Astoria, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born Dec. 24, 1918, in Bader, the daughter of Earl and Glenna Anderson Moose. She married John H. Cassel on Feb. 15, 1942, in Astoria. He died July 15, 1990.
Surviving are one uncle, O.L. Anderson of Mount Sterling; two aunts, Eleanor Anderson of Kent, Wash., and June Anderson Gain of Chillicothe; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She worked for Astoria Gas and Electric for 10 years. She then worked as vice president and assistant cashier at Farmers State Bank of Astoria, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Township Cemetery Association.
