John H. Cassel, 77, of Astoria, died at 7:55 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 1990, at the Astoria Healthcare Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1912, at Bader, a son of Milton and Jennie (Brehm) Cassel. He married Betty L. Moose on Feb. 15, 1942, at Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Cassel was a retired Caterpillar employee.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone and Rev. Terry Westerfield officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Township Cemeteries or the Astoria United Methodist Church.
