Drag Racin’

Caileb Beaird   Caileb Beaird of Astoria took first-place Top ET at Central Illinois Dragway in Havana this past weekend. ET is a popular handicapped form of competition bracket drag racing. Two vehicles of varying performance potentials race on a potentially even basis. The anticipated elapsed times for each vehicle are compared, and the slower car receives a head start equal to the difference of the two. With this system, any two vehicles can be paired in a competitive drag race.

Braxton France   Braxton France of Astoria took first place in the Junior Dragster Division at Central Illinois Dragway in Havana on Saturday, Aug. 15. Braxton is the son of Brandon and Brady France, and the grandson of Joe and Tana France and David and Rita Cassel, all of Astoria.
