Frances Yocum

Frances M. Yocum, 92, of Lewistown died at 11:20 a.m. Nov. 25, 2006, at Prairieview Care Center.

She was born July 11, 1914, in Lewistown, a daughter of Frank and Bertha Poland Humphrey. She married Clarence Yocum on April 26, 1930, in Palmrya, Mo. He died July 6, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are seven sons, Frank (and Carol) of Ipava, Eldon (and Lucretia) of Lakeland, Fla., William (and Charlene) of Fairbury, John (and Dondra) of Lewistown, Thomas (and Beverly) of Monroeville, Ala., Samuel of Springfield and James (and Bonnie) of Norwood; seven daughters, Clarice (and Gene) Pelton of Lewistown, Peggy Towery of Havana, Geraldine (and Don) Lybarger of Romeoville, Mildred (and Bob) Dwyer of Hannibal, Mo., Sara Beth Yocum of Heber Springs, Ariz., Mary Yocum of Holland, Mich., and Charlene (and Dannie) Hutton of Lewistown; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Crossroads Free Methodist Church in Lewistown.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at her church with Rev. Martin Janicke officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church, the American Cancer Society or Prairieview Care Center activity fund.
