Roy Yocum

Roy W. Yocum, 81, of Macomb, formerly of Prairie City, died at 7:10 p.m. Sunday at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Jan. 22, 1914, in Fiatt, a son of Jess and Pearl Postin Yocum. He married Nina Marjorie Predmore on Nov. 28, 1933, in Lewistown. She died March 11, 1990. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and six grandchildren.

Surviving are one son, David of Prairie City; five daughters, Jetta Shaw of Table Grove, Nancy Miller and Anita Stoneking, both of Prairie City; Julie Nicholas of Peoria and Sandra Mortenson of Golden, Colo.; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don and Bill, both of Prairie City, and Raymond of Florida; and four sisters, Pauline Rylander of Oneida, Betty Knapp of Lewistown, Melba Crowl of Bushnell and Nancy Miller of Prairie City.

He farmed in the Abingdon and Maquon area most of his life before he retired. He then moved to Prairie City and later Macomb.

Funeral services were held this morning at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Rev. Gary Green officiating. Burial was in Prairie City Cemetery.
