Edward Wickert

Edward WickertEdward Lee Wickert, 63, of Ipava died March 28, 2023, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born June 6, 1959, in Havana, the son of Tommy and Betty Bishop Wickert of Ipava. He married Pamela Collier Mayall on Oct. 29, 1983. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kyle (and Tammy Caraker) Wickert of Vienna and Neal (and Jessa) Wickert of Ipava; two stepdaughters, Krissa (and Dave) Nystrom of Tremont and Niki (and Matt) Pataky of Washington, Mo.; two sisters, Diana (and Terry) Arnett of Table Grove and Sue (and Randy) Farr of Ipava; five grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Phil Poli.

He was a graduate of VIT High School in Table Grove. After graduation, he worked for the AMAX Coal Company for nine years before going into grain and livestock farming full time.

He served on the Schuyler-Brown FS Board and later retired as the President of Fulton FS Board, serving for over 40 years. He was a member of Ipava United Presbyterian Church.

He was a long time farmer.

Services were held Sunday at his church with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was held in the Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava Fire and Rescue Squad or Ipava United Presbyterian Church.
