Genevie Westlake

Genevie Westlake, 87, of Browning died at 9:05 a.m. March 30, 2012, at Heritage Manor in Beardstown.

She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in New Philadelphia, a daughter of William B. and Elizabeth G. Hutchins Worthington. She married Glenn O. Westlake on July 20, 1940, in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2007.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Larry Westlake; one infant daughter, Pamela Westlake; one infant grandson, Jonathon; two brothers, Billy and Bernard Worthington; and three sisters, Dorothy Schmidt, Juanita Theobald and Joan Clausen.

Surviving are four sons, Glenn Allen (and Martina) Westlake of Astoria; Ronald (and Nancy) Westlake and Gary (and Diane) Westlake, both of Browning and Marvin (and Rebecca) Westlake of Mount Carmel; three daughters, Linda (and Wilmer) Gale and Tami Clements, both of Astoria and Julia (and Ronald) Rayburn of Morton; three brothers, Leland (and Wilma) Worthington and Leonard (and Betty) Worthington, both of New Philadelphia and Glen Earl (and Vivian) Worthington of Table Grove; one sister, Opal (and Jim) Heaton of Astoria; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church and Bader Ladies Aid Society.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Jeremy Westlake officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bader Christian Church or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
