Robert Winner

Robert E. Winner, 77, of Browning died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 1, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1934, in Hickory Township, Schuyler County, a son of Charles E. and Cecil E. Cole Winner. He married Patty Stambaugh on Nov. 1, 1951, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara (and Scott) Harris of Browning and Karen (and Gary Smith) Lowe of Glasford; two sons, Aaron (and Laura) Winner of Rushville and Alvin (and Vonda Smith) Winner of Browning; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Modena Winner; and three brothers, Charles, Elmer and Mickey Winner.

He was a farm hand. He also worked at International Harvester in Canton; was owner/operator of Shell Gas Station in Browning; and raised goods for area farmers' markets.

He was a member of Sheldons Grove United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Sheldons Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice in Macomb.
