ALICE MAE (BOWSER) WISE

Alice Wise

Alice Mae Wise, 86, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 2:10 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008, at Wesley Village in Macomb.

She was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Astoria, a daughter of Ralph G. and Anna J. Engle Bowser. She married Robert H. Wise on Jan. 31, 1946, in Astoria. He died Sept. 15, 2008.

She also was preceded in death by one infant sister, Nellie Marie Bowser.

Surviving are two sons, Charles (and Lois) Wise of N. Augusta, S.C., and Norman (and Rita) Wise of Table Grove; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and farm wife.

She was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano, served on church board and was a Sunday school secretary for many years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at her church with Rev. Bob Greene officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund or McDonough County Hospice.
