Charlotte Joan Walden, 80, of Seligman, Mo., died Nov. 9, 2008, at her home.

She was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Adair, the daughter of Leland C. and Hazel Hoke Skiles. She married Arlus “Wayne” Walden in Olympia, Wash., in 1953. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Darrell Wayne (and Tammy) Walden of Camdenton, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Jean Walden Davis and Julie JoAnn Walden Scott, both of Battlefield, Mo.; one brother, Carroll (and Wanda) Skiles of Astoria; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Leland J. Skiles.

She was a retiree of the U.S. Civil Service and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

She worked as a secretary for many different Civil Service Communication offices including: Ft. Richardson, Alaska, Ft. Lewis, Washington, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Illinois National Guard and Camp Ellis. She also worked in the Division of Records for Washington State Highway Patrol, and previous employee of U.S. Corps of Engineers in Rogers, Ark.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo., with Minister Ken West officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Walden Cemetery in Carroll County near Busch, Ark., on Highway 62 with Pastor Bob Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Cassville, Mo.

Memorials may be made to Walden Cemetery or Seligman Senior Center and may be entrusted to White Funeral Home.
