Larry Wherley

Larry K. Wherley, 57, of Astoria and Indianapolis, Ind., died at 9:17 p.m. Sept. 14, 2007, at Community East Hospital emergency room in Indianapolis.

He was born Nov. 28, 1949, in Macomb, a son of Pius Wendell “Jack” and Marjorie Palmer Wherley. He married Patricia France on Oct. 3, 1970, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chris (and Lindsey) Wherley of Athens and Scott (and Jennifer) Wherley of Astoria; his mother, Marjorie Wherley of Astoria; one brother, Ed (and Mary Jo) Wherley of Table Grove; one sister, Beverly (and Tom) Yocum of Monroeville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and one granddaughter, Rylie Rene Wherley.

He worked for Navistar’s Truck and Engine Plant in Indianapolis and Laborer’s Local 231.

He was a member of UAW, Laborer’s Union Local 231.

Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the South Fulton sports program or the Astoria Park District sports program.
