Hazel WellsHazel Marie Wells, 97, of Rushville died at 6:10 p.m. Aug. 8, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born July 1, 1909, near Summum in Fulton County, a daughter of Frank and Ruth Bricker Ogden. She married George Arthur Wells on Feb. 6, 1930, in Lewistown. He died June 4, 1970.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, DeVere Ogden.

Surviving are two sons, Willis of Peoria and Dale (and Bonnie) of Rushville; three daughters, Norma L. (and Donald) Kenney of Englewood, Fla., Marilyn A. (and Larry) Lafary of Marquette Heights and Janice S. (and Charles) Grady of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She and her husband farmed near Ray until March 1966. They then moved to Rushville where they purchased an apartment house. She was a restaurant cook, employed four years at the Subway Cafe in Astoria, and later at Pings Pantry in Rushville for 15 years before retiring.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial was in Littleton Cemetery.
