Carolyn Watson

Carolyn K. Watson, 64, of Astoria died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at her home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Astoria, the daughter of Alfred Carlyle and Nola Carlete Seward Rose. She married Don Watson on April 5, 1959, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Donnie (and Becky) of Vermont and Todd (and Sara) of Browning; one daughter, Melissa (and Chris) Shaw of Astoria; one brother, Carmen (and Barbara) Rose of Macomb; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two infant daughters, Janell Kay and Marcella Jean.

She was a member of Astoria Christian Church where she played the organ, taught Sunday School and Bible school, and was a youth leader. She was one of the founders of the Meals on Wheels program in Astoria. She also was a den mother for Astoria Cub Scouts Troop #105 for many years.

She was a bookkeeper for Fulton County Rehabilitation Center in Canton for 25 years. She also was a lecturer for Weight Watchers for several years.

Services were held Monday at her church with Gary Sheets and Ben Peterman officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or her church mission fund.
