George WilsonGeorge T. Wilson, 81, of Vermont died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born June 1, 1924, in Cuba, a son of Charlie and Bonnie Tucker Wilson. He married Margie Louise Mallott on June 3, 1944, in Lewistown. She died Aug. 21, 1999.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, Henry; and one sister, Mary Myers.

Surviving are one son, George "Rusty" (and Mary) of Table Grove; one daughter, Sandy (and Les) Belville of Princeville; three brothers, Harry and Ben, both of Canton and Chuckie of Washington, Miss.; one sister, Bonnie Flynn of Florida; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of Vermont Methodist Church. He was former mayor of Vermont.

He was a farmer and a heavy equipment operator for Union Local 649.

Services were held Monday at the Vermont Methodist Church with Rev. Cindy Rettig officiating. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Vermont Methodist Church or Vermont Rescue Squad.
