Don Welker

Don B. Welker, 89, of Astoria, formerly of Ipava, died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1999, at Astoria Healthcare Center.

He was born April 4, 1910, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of William Barton and Cora Davis Welker. He married Jeanette E. Angelo on Feb. 5, 1938, in Bowling Green, Mo. She died Dec. 14, 1977.

One great-grandson, three sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, Norman of Macomb and Don Eugene of Lewistown; one daughter, Jane Nappin of Lewistown; one sister, Zoe Gunzenheiser of Peoria; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was a farmer and later owned and operated Welker Produce from 1945 to 1953. He then was a sexton for Pleasant Township Cemetery Association for 23 years, retiring in 1975.

Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
