Maude Wilson

Maude Rebecca Wilson, 99, of Lena, formerly of Vermont, died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at her daughter’s home in Lena.

She was born Sept. 30, 1897, in Ipava, a daughter of William A. and Emma A. King Lybarger. She married Ghlee Ross Wilson on Oct. 19, 1920, in Macomb. He died in July 1969. Three sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Virginia) Rimington of Lena; one son, Gerald R. Wilson of Escondido, Calif.; six grandchildren; one stepgrandson; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granddaughters; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was an owner of Wilson Plumbing, Heating and Electric, and Wilson Hardware. She was treasurer for Vermont School District for many years. She was a member of Vermont Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 26 and the PEO Sisterhood, all in Vermont. She served on the Vermont Centennial Committee.

A memorial graveside service will be at Vermont Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.
