Dale M. Ward, 78, of Astoria died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, June 23, 1995, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Oct. 12, 1916, in Cuba, a son of Elijah and Elva Berry Ward. He married Lucy Lafary on Aug. 29, 1940, in Fort Madison, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Karen Smith of West York, Sharon Hammond of Canton, Frances Weaver of Sterling and Donna Loudenburg of Bradford; four sons, Ronald of Cuba, Gary of Bushnell, Larry of Lewistown and Dennis of Astoria; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
He worked at International Harvester in Canton and Prairie Steel Co. in Havana.
Graveside services were held Sunday at Randall Cemetery in Bernadotte with Collis Trone officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
