Dorothy A. Winston, 87, of rural Browning, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 1995, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born Feb. 18, 1908, in Fulton County, a daughter of John D. and Catherine E. Burkholder Workman. She married Edward L. Winston on March 1, 1926. He died on Dec. 21, 1987.
Also preceding her in death were one great-grandchild, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Othello (Beverly) Burgard of Sheldons Grove; three sons, Junior L. Winston of Browning, Jack D. Winston of Rushville and John W. “Bill” Winston of Beardstown; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Browning United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Jerry Watkins and Rev. Lance Leeds officiating. Burial was in the Browning Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or the Culbertson Memorial Hospital long-term care unit.
