Viola Warner Of Carthage Dies

Viola Warner, 77, of Carthage, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1985, at her home.

She was born Jan. 12, 1908 in McDonough County, a daughter of Roy and Ethel Minor Hamm. She married Howard Warner in January of 1935 in McDonough County. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, William of Moline, Lewis of Ipava and Ronald of Carthage; three daughters, Evelyn Derry of Canton, Maxine Pulver of Carthage and Martha Ulmer of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Bottenberg of Branson, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Jeraldine, two sisters and several grandchildren.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of ATA, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Harmony Township Homemakers Extension Association.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Leathem Funeral Home in Carthage with Rev. Don Haworth officiating. Burial was in the Vermont cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Carthage First United Methodist Church of which she was a member.
